My Journey So Far

Founding Sheffield Talent Solutions

From 2017 to 2018, I had the opportunity to partner with a company in Sheffield, UK and supply blue collar workers. As I reviewed their applications, I was struck by the diversity in the way they presented themselves. Some CVs were handwritten, others were typed with an all-capital and all-bold font, and still others used an online system that formatted them terribly. This made me realize that our local job seekers needed help.

I knew then that I had to act. I founded Sheffield Talent Solutions to support local blue-collar workers gain employment. To help them as best I could, I learnt everything about personal branding, career branding, and career development. I read every book, attended numerous courses and workshops, and engaged with global thought leaders. I then combined what I learned with my 10 years of experience recruiting for leading global companies to create best practices, which empowered people to attain paid jobs across South Yorkshire.

Then came the pandemic. The world went remote, and my international network of professionals needed help too. Many were made redundant and had to manage a tremendous amount of stress and uncertainty. I knew then that I had to support a bigger audience and offer more modern solutions to my network of professionals and executives. I began to support professionals in Ireland, Spain, France, Germany, Switzerland, and Italy.

What’s next? We cannot predict the future, but what we do today will prepare us for tomorrow. I have rebranded to Your Career Optimizer to empower more professionals around the world to take control of their careers and achieve their career goals.

My mission is to support professionals to build their career brands, showcase their skills, and create meaningful career opportunities. My vision is to create a world where everyone has the skills and resources they need to pursue their career dreams and make a positive impact in the world.
